Roger was born and raised in Miami, and is a graduate of the University of Florida, with a unique set of degrees in Zoology and Advertising. Distinctly, he did sales work for the world’s largest marine life park, SeaWorld of Florida and Texas, in the1980’s. His last corporate work was with a medical sales company, Bristol-Myers Squibb, on the Florida East Coast, in the 1990’s. Roger’s favorite passages that has fortified his work are Proverbs 3:5, 6 and Philippians 4:13.

As a Christian for over four decades, Roger has served in churches in Florida, Texas and South Carolina, as a volunteer leader or on staff, leading adults and future adults. Roger accepted his call to full time ministry as Collegiate Minister at First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach in 1992. He met Cathy, his wife, a PBAU graduate and native of Palm Beach Gardens, in the Single Adult Ministry.  They were married in 1993. In 1995, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas to get their ministry training at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, including Cathy’s Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. Following graduation, the Acton’s have served God in South Carolina for the last twelve years, adding to their family, daughters Micah and Faith. Both daughters are believers in Jesus Christ, and are students at a local christian school.

While in South Carolina, Roger was on staff at local churches, plus on staff at the South Carolina Baptist Convention, as Assistant Director, Adult ministry. He also provided adult ministry consultation for LifeWay Christian Resources, plus consultation as Children Ministry Evangelism Strategist for the North American Mission Board. 

Roger looks forward to pray, lead and partner with all through this growing ministry, in the Palm Beaches and beyond.
